Mark Roberts from Long Island City, New York: “I pose for before and after pictures for a toupee company”
Roberts is seated at a barber chair, and Steve is shaving off his quite real head of hair.  He operates Mark Roberts Hairpieces and shaves weekly to model his own creations.  He models four of them here.

Bob Wake from Clear Creek, Texas: “I’m the U.S. Spelling Champion”
13-year-old Bob won the 39th Scripps Spelling Bee in June 1966 with the final word ‘ratoon’ (a sprout from a crop plant).  Seventy-one participants took part in that competition.  In 2019, there were 562 competitors in the finals.  Of course, millions of students have always taken part each year in local and regional Bees.  The Scripps Company has sponsored the competition since 1941, and today, the Bee calls itself the nation's largest and longest-running educational promotion.  (See also E137 and E391 .)

Special guest Jayne Meadows brings personal questions for Steve and the panel (How many of you have worn braces?) and everyone predicts what the answer will be (1, Henry).  Shelley Winters had played the same game with the panel about a year earlier ( E651 ).
