Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Armstrong from Lewis, Iowa have their six

Semi-wacky
childbirth. The Armstrongs have adult
children who didn’t live at home when the youngest was born. Several have moved
far from the family home (two live in California) and despite multiple efforts,
the entire clan had not been able to gather at one time until this holiday
season.
Special guest Durward Kirby grades the
panel on their predictions of 1964 events that they made at the end of 1963
(
E548
). Bess goes along with the segment, and her guesses are revealed, even
though she wasn’t on the panel the day they made their predictions. The panel then makes similar predictions for
1965. Among them, Kirby asks whether
spacecraft Ranger 2 would successfully send back pictures from Mars. He appears to mean Mariner 4, which had
launched on November 28. Mariner 4 would
be successful. The panel is also asked
to predict the winner of the Clay-Liston rematch. Betsy and Bess correctly pick Clay. Henry makes reference to his new name of
Muhammad Ali.
Twenty-five people
found by the producers from area phone books are gathered on stage. Their names in order make up the lyrics to
“Auld Lang Syne” (1788).
