Bill, Sally Ann Howes, Henry, Bess

Howes is a British actress little known to American audiences at this point in her career.   Primarily a stage actress, she would later become best known for her role as Truly Scrumptious in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968).

Tom Giuffrida and Rick Holbrook from Burbank, California: “We invited President Kennedy to our senior prom…he showed up”
The John Burroughs High School senior prom set for June 7 in the Beverly Hilton Grand Ballroom was almost bumped to make room for a posh fundraiser honoring the president. Kennedy personally intervened, getting his dinner moved to two smaller rooms upstairs so the kids could have their event.  The president stopped by the prom briefly, bringing with him, of all people, Jack Benny.

Special guest Sam Levenson gives the panel a sixth grade exam, to see if grown-ups know school subjects.  He even invites the home audience to play along.  Levenson was once a schoolteacher himself.   The show used Levenson to play exactly the same game almost a decade earlier ( E106 ).  This appearance launched a recurring bit for Levenson, who would return to the show each season quizzing the panel on grade-level material that would get easier over the years.

Mr. X: “Garry Moore is floating in mid-air”
Lon Masterson, a former CBS staffer who worked on the production team of I’ve Got A Secret in the early days, returns to perform a quick illusion with Garry. Levenson hosts this final, brief game. (See E240 , E489 )
