Wilson was a pilot based in East
Africa who flew for the Saudi Arabian government, including the royal
family. This particular mission was in
the summer of 1951 on behalf of the Crown Prince who, at the time of this
program, had become King of Saudi Arabia, Saud Al Saud.
Special Guest George Raft has a gravy stain on
his tie.
Raft was a popular actor of the 1930s
and 1940s, especially in gangster roles.
He gained fame for his performance in Scarface (1932). The image
of him flipping a coin became an iconic part of film history. Raft had a reputation as a stylish dresser,
so with the panel offstage, Garry brings in a waiter from the fashionable 21
Club to stain Raft’s tie with only the very best gravy.
