Four contestants appear with unusual names that comically match
their occupations. (See

)
The Superintendent of Schools in Baltimore: “Dr. Brain”
The State Treasurer of Texas: “Jesse James”
Dill Pickle: “Mr. Pickle sells ice cream”
A gas station attendant in Salt Lake City: “Mr. Fillerup”
Special guest Joan Crawford: “I’m going to play a dramatic scene
with Betsy Palmer…Betsy doesn’t know about it”
Betsy and Crawford worked together in Queen Bee (1955). A scene from the film is shown, with Betsy
unable to hear the dialogue. The clip is
replayed silently, and Betsy tries vainly to recall her lines. Crawford is about to begin work on the movie Strait-Jacket (1964). She is serving as
the chairman for the charity group Stars for Mental Health and returns at the
end of the program to make a brief statement on behalf of the group.
Five members of a musical group called The Cornells are each
related to famous people: “My mother is Loretta Young,” “My father is Dennis
O’Keefe,” “My father is Art Linkletter,” “My father is Charles Correll (“Andy”
of Amos & Andy),” “My father is Thomas O. Crumplar”
Well, four of them are famous,
anyway. The five are Peter Lewis, Jim
O’Keefe, Bob Linkletter, Charles Correll Jr and Tom Crumplar Jr. Crumplar’s father was a Hollywood businessman. They perform “Caravan.”
