Bill, Denise Lor, Henry, Bess

Betsy Palmer hosts.

Betsy hosts.  It is the first live show after seven weeks of original but prerecorded programs.  However, Garry has not yet returned from his summer vacation.

Mary Rooney from New York City and Isabella Rye from London: “We’re going to hand wrestle Bill and Henry”
What the show calls “hand wrestling” we know today as arm wrestling.  Back in 1955, in a similar stunt involving Faye, the show referred to the competition as “Indian wrestling.”  Both women easily dispatch the two panelists.  The striking 6’2” Rye is an actress who appeared in summer stock and would go on to have some film credits.

Debbie and Weldon Spykes from Pearsall, Texas: “My wife has served me breakfast in bed every morning for 14 years”

Special guest Edie Adams challenges the panel (divided male vs female) in games involving the value of two similar items.  For example, which of two dogs is a valuable purebred, and which could you get from the pound?  Is Betsy or Edie the one wearing real diamonds?  Which sculpture is a valuable work of art?  Which violin is a Stradivarius?  The men end up winning the challenge.
