400     September 14, 1960
Bill, Betsy, Henry, Bess

Garry mentions at the top of the show that this is episode 400.

Betsy has returned from Niagara Falls, Canada where she was the guest of honor at a ceremony dedicating those cement casts of the panelists’ feet from earlier in the summer ( E390 ).  She reports on the festivities. The cement panels are part of a wax museum exhibition.  Also see E479 .

Shelby Wilson and Douglas Blubaugh from Ponca City, Oklahoma: “Both of us won Gold Medals in the Olympics last week (Wrestling)”
Wilson won in the Freestyle Lightweight division, and Blubaugh won in the Freestyle Welterweight class at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.  Blubaugh would later coach wrestling at the University of Indiana.  On a personal note, Blubaugh is going to be married next week, and Wilson is performing the ceremony.

Special Guest Vic Damone plays with facial hair.  He puts various fake pieces on Garry during the questioning, but his secret is that the panel will trim the beards of four finalists of a beard-growing contest in Jamestown, New York. Damone is performing at New York’s Camelot Club and is appearing in a dramatic role in the movie Hell to Eternity (1960).
