Mr. X: “Bess Myerson is floating on air”
Milbourne Christopher was a leading American illusionist and magician of the 20th century.  He’s performing a fairly simple trick here.  Christopher was an author who wrote a dozen books and thousands of essays about magic and mentalism.  He also spent much of his career exposing and debunking various individuals who claimed actual psychic and extrasensory abilities.

Zaddie Bunker from Palm Springs, California: “I flew a jet plane and broke the sound barrier”
Bunker is a great-grandmother, who only began flying in her sixties.  Though the show is coy about her age, she was 71 when she made her supersonic flight in May, in a plane piloted by Lt. Col. Robinson Risner.

Special Guest Jack Hawkins creates suspense during the questioning by various means, such as stacking cups and saucers or lighting a long fuse.  Hawkins was a popular and successful British actor from the 1930s into the 1970s, whose films include Ben-Hur (1959), Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957).  Here, he is promoting a TV production of The Fallen Idol, which will air in one week, preempting I’ve Got a Secret on October 14.
