Dr. George Speake from Los Angeles, California: “I’m going to let
electricity pass through my body…one million volts”
Dr. Speake works for the Moody Bible
Institute and tours with his “Sermons from Science” presentations, which
combine eye-catching scientific demonstrations with Biblical messages. Speake is one of three men, including founder
Irwin Moon and Speake’s protégé Dean Ortner, who used the million volt
demonstration as the centerpiece to the Sermons from Science series. Now known as Wonders of Science, the program is
still in operation.
Emil Crawford from Moses Lake, Washington “I’m a house mover…I
moved the wrong house by mistake”
Crawford delivered two nearly
identical prefabricated houses to the wrong addresses. In the end, he convinced
the two buyers to accept the houses they got rather than re-transport them.
Special Guest Tab Hunter performs in
an elaborate western scene, but with his arm in a sling due to a dislocated
shoulder, Garry serves as his stunt double.
Garry does the physical parts and other comically dirty work of the
scene, while Hunter swoops in for the easier moments and answers the
blindfolded panel’s questions. Hunter is
promoting his new film They Came to
Cordura (1959) and his album When I Fall In Love (Warner).
