[Thomas Marr] from Staten Island: “I’m taking my final test for barber college”

Mr. X, an attorney from Richmond, Virginia: “My grandfather was President of the United States”
Lyon Tyler Jr is the son of John Tyler, the 10th president of the United States, who was born in 1790.  When President Tyler’s first wife died, he married a much younger woman who gave him seven children.  The youngest of those, Lyon Sr, was born in 1853.  He too would also eventually have a much younger second wife, and she gave birth to Lyon Jr in 1924.  Astonishingly, Lyon Jr lived until 2020, a 21st century link to a president born in the 18th century, yet separated by only two generations.  Even more astonishingly, another grandson, Harrison Ruffin Tyler, is still alive as of April, 2023.

Special Guest Peter Lind Hayes works old jokes into the question and answer session.
The jokes come from Bill Cullen’s past sideline career as a gag writer for such radio stars as Arthur Godfrey, Art Carney and Danny Kaye.  Hayes is married to guest panelist Mary Healy.
