Fourteen US Navy servicemen: "We served aboard the USS Nautilus...We've traveled the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea"
Launched in January 1954, the Nautilus is the world's first nuclear powered submarine.  It shares its name with the fictional sub commanded by Captain Nemo in the famous Jules Verne adventure novel referenced in this secret. The ship reached its noteworthy milestone on February 5, to much celebration. One of the fourteen contestants is chief electrician's mate Wilfred Nelson of Staffordville, Connecticut, whose hometown newspaper did a brief write-up about his participation in this segment.

Another guest is US Admiral
William F "Bull" Halsey.  Halsey's appearance is used to draw attention to restoration and preservation efforts for the USS Enterprise, an aircraft carrier commissioned between 1938 and 1947.  The Enterprise saw service in virtually every major battle in the Pacific during World War Two.  The hope was to make the Enterprise a permanent museum ship.  Despite Halsey's efforts, and those of others, the Enterprise would be scrapped later in the 1950s.  In 1958, the world's first nuclear powered aircraft carrier would carry on the name Enterprise.

Special guest Herbert Marshall
A British stage and screen actor seems an odd choice of guest in a show otherwise dominated by stories of American military performance, but this appears to be accurate.
