Mr. Ruel: I’m changing Jayne’s hair-style every 45 seconds”
Mr. Ruel (he is known only by the one name) is the styles director for Coiffures Americana, a chain of hair salons located inside department stores across the country.  The stores were popular from the mid 1950s through the 1960s.

Special Guest George Gobel brought his writers with him.
Writers Howard Leeds, Harry Winkler and Everett Greenbaum are backstage watching the show and feeding Gobel funny lines through an earpiece.  All three men would go on to write for such iconic sitcoms as The Brady Bunch (Leeds), The Odd Couple (Winkler) and M*A*S*H (Greenbaum).  “Lonesome George” was an enormously popular TV comedy star in the 1950s and 1960, both on his own show (1954-1960) and as a frequent guest on others.  He would later become a long-time regular on the game show The Hollywood Squares.
