Einar Hansen plays classical music on drinking glasses
Musical glasses were in vogue in the 18th century, and masters like Mozart and Beethoven even wrote original pieces for them.  Keeping the art form alive, Hansen performs as a novelty act on television, and has recorded at least two albums, one a collection of Christmas songs that will be released at the end of the year.  The musician is one of several somewhat noted 20th century Scandinavians with similar names, including painter Ejnar Hansen and early silent film actor Einar Henson.

William G Porter of Bement, Iliinois: “I was kissed by Marilyn Monroe…twice!”
Earlier this month, 70-year-old Mr Porter competed in a “Brothers of the Brush” beard contest as part of a week-long celebration of Bement’s centennial.  The small town of 1,500 had, remarkably, managed to get the blond bombshell to come to their event.  Though there were official winners in several hairy categories, Monroe got to choose her favorite, which she indicated with a couple of chaste pecks on the cheek.

Special Guest Chico Marx and Don McNeill play a game with a block of ice
When a panelist asks a question that gets a ‘yes’ answer, Chico passes the ice to Don.  When the answer is ‘no’, the block goes back to Chico.  The resulting physical comedy is meant to invoke Chico’s film days.
