Albert Miller: “I played golf with Eisenhower”
Miller is a DC area representative of the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company and played on July 30 in a foursome that included not only the president but also retired general Omar Bradley.  Thing is, Ike and his team try to keep his private life out of the public eye, and reports came out that the White House was not at all happy about Miller's national TV appearance.  In the ultimate breech of protocol, Miller displayed the foursome's scorecard on the air.  For the record, the president shot a very respectable 86.

Special guest Jack Dempsey:  “I’m going to referee a bout with 2 kids tonight”
"The Manassa Mauler," as Dempsey was known, fought in the ring from 1914 until 1927, and was heavyweight champion for most of that time.  He is considered one of the all-time greats.  His fighting style was exemplified by his rage in the ring, and in fact he is responsible for the rule that a boxer must move to a neutral corner after a knockdown to give his opponent the chance to get back up.  Out of the ring he was a philanthropist and was friends with many in the boxing community, including those boxers he fought.  After retiring from competition he performed exhibitions, made personal appearances and even dabbled in profession wrestling.  A museum dedicated to his legacy is located in his small hometown of Manassa, Colorado.
