Special guest Jack Carter answers the panel’s questions
going through every emotion “from A to Z.”
In other words, each question is answered in an emotional
state, starting with A ("angry") and working down the alphabet with each subsequent
question. Identical to a game played
with Cyril Ritchard in 1956 (

). While
Carter is primarily known as a stand-up comedian and comic actor, he had
displayed dramatic chops in past roles.
He would later become a popular performer on the Dean Martin
Celebrity Roasts (1974-84) and would enjoy a bit of a resurgence in the
1990s as a voice actor for various animated series.
Shirlee Ellis Amos from Hollywood: “My hat’s made of
eggshells”
In addition to her elegant hat, Steve displays other items
Mrs Amos has made with eggshells, a skill she says she picked up while touring
as a singer. Amos was a nightclub
performer of the 1960s under the name Shirl-ee May. In 1966 she married talent agent Wally Amos,
who would later become the cookie mogul “Famous Amos.” They would divorce in 1977 on the cusp of his
cookie fame. Shirlee struggled with
mental illness and would take her own life in 2003. Musician Shawn Amos, the only son of Wally
and Shirlee, released the album Thank You Shirl-ee May (2005) as a
tribute to a mother whose performing career he didn’t discover until after her
death.
