Charles Alexander from Manchester, Connecticut: “I made a parachute jump…I was picked up in mid-air by another airplane”                 Alexander is involved in parachute research and testing, but the test here was of the rescue abilities of the second plane.  That plane was equipped with hooks and reels designed to snag a parachutist in descent.  The goal is to save pilots of disabled warplanes from enemy capture.  Alexander has made more than 850 parachute jumps.

Bert Rechichar from Monessen, Pennsylvania: "I kicked the longest field goal in pro football history (56 yards)" and Bill Shear from Appalachin, New York: "I just kicked one 5 yards longer"
Rechichar played for most of the 1950s, primarily for the Baltimore Colts, and his 56-yard kick in 1953 would stand as the NFL record for 17 years, until Tom Dempsey’s 63-yarder in 1970.  Shear plays for Cortland State University in New York and kicked his 61-yard field goal on October 15.  In 1967 Shear would be drafted by the Green Bay Packers, but he never played in the NFL.  He would play in a couple of East Coast semipro leagues.  The current NFL record of 66 yards was set by Justin Tucker in 2021.

Special guest Arlene Dahl: “The dress I’m wearing is made of paper…The dress is valued at $1,000”
Dahl’s dress is designed by Tzaims Luksus.  We are treated to a fashion show of other dress designs made of paper. Dahl has written a book on beauty and femininity called Always Ask a Man (Prentice-Hall 1965).
