This is the official season premiere and the start of the show’s final season.  I've Got a Secret is now seen at 10:30pm.  Though the entire final season (starting with this episode) is broadcast in color, the surviving kinescopes available for viewing today are all black and white.  Also, the show is no longer broadcast live.  The standard procedure is still to do two shows on a taping day, more or less on the same schedule they had been using before.  One show would air in the later time slot on the same day it was recorded, and the other would be saved for the following week.           

Special guest Arthur Godfrey
Contemporary newspaper listings are pretty evenly split between those naming Godfrey as the guest on this season premiere and others listing actor Stephen Boyd.  GSN documentation says Godfrey, so we'll stick with that, though the episode itself appears to be one of the few dozen lost to time.
