Cole Palen from Rhinebeck, New York: “I flew here in a 1912
airplane”
Palen left
from Rhinebeck five days ago, but had to make frequent stops for repairs, and
for the limited distances that such a plane could cover. Palen is the founder of the Old Rhinebeck
Aerodrome, a “living museum” of working antique aircraft. The Aerodrome continues to operate today, and
now includes antique automobiles in its collection. His enormous plane is displayed here, taking
up the vast majority of the stage.
[Mrs. Ruth Oster] from The Bronx: “I found a parking ticket on my
car…A parking meter was installed during the night”
Special guest Edie Adams brings “deep
dark secrets” about the panelists themselves, and each question her to discover
their own Secret. “Bill flunked glee
club in high school,” “Bess just started taking cooking lessons,” “Henry once
refused to invest $8000 in a plot of land…That land is now worth 5 million
dollars,” “Betsy doesn’t know it, but –
her daughter will make her 1st TV appearance tonight.” Melissa “Missy” Merendino is about three
years old here. Adams is beginning a two-week
engagement at the Latin Quarter in New York City. Her personal secret tonight is that she was a
baton-twirling champion as a teen, and she gets to show off her talents over
the credits.
