[Mrs. Harold Knapp] from Ontario, Canada: “I made this dress out of 204 nylon stockings”

[David Touch] from Los Angeles, California: “I played 54 holes of golf…18 holes in New York, 18 holes in Chicago, 18 holes in California…All on the same day”
In an era when cross-country flight was still something of a novelty, Touch teed off in New York at five in the morning and finished up his round in Los Angeles around 7:00pm Pacific time.  He celebrated his 50th birthday with this feat.

Special guest Alan King used a UNIVAC computer to find a birthday gift for Garry, based on a questionnaire Garry filled out a few days earlier.  The panel had filled out the questionnaire as well, each trying to answer the way Garry would have, and they present Garry with their gifts.  The show’s fascination with the “electronic brain” continues.  Later, the singers and dancers from Garry’s variety show present him with a final gift, which turns out to be Durward Kirby dressed as a doll.  This episode was recorded on December 23, and Bill accidentally wishes Garry a Merry Christmas.  Garry will turn 49 on January 31st.
