Bill, Betsy, Henry, Bess

Henry is performing in the play “King of Hearts” in Florida and flew up just to participate on the show.  The show was pre-empted last week due to extensive news coverage following the assassination of President John Kennedy on November 22.

Antonio Romano from Fort Lee, New Jersey: “I’m going to ride a bicycle on this stage…The bicycle is in this handbag”
The tiny bicycle can easily be held in one hand, and was placed in Bess’ purse at the top of the show.  A similar novelty act performed on the show in 1961 ( E435 ) and another appeared in the fourth episode of the 1976 reboot .

Franklin Bacon from Springfield, Massachusetts: “I’ve been bitten by 23 different dogs”
Bacon is a postal worker.  The panel guesses quickly, and the entertaining mailman regales them with stories of his misadventures.  Bacon would retire from the postal service in 1983.

Special guest Troy Donahue: “I was an usher in this theatre tonight…I took these 4 girls to their seats”
The four girls were brought onstage to play the game with the screen heartthrob, with the panelists seated behind them to help frame questions. Afterwards, Donahue shares comments he overheard while ushering unsuspecting audience members to their seats. Donahue is starring in the film Palm Springs Weekend (1963).
