Bill, Betsy, Henry, Faye Emerson

Faye has just completed a one year cross-country tour with the National Repertory Company.  Among her roles in that tour was Mary, Queen of Scots in the Friedrich Schiller drama “Mary Stuart.”

May Tooley Manford, Mary Crippen, Isabel Kaltenbach Wilkerson, Zetta Tooley Hulse, Julia Maloney Herring and Arvilla Hayes Adams, from various cities in Indiana: “We’re the entire graduating class of our high school…50 years ago (Class of 1912)”
The six women attended Scipio High School in Indiana, which closed in 1959.  Even today, the population of Scipio is less than 200.  The women began reuniting in 1947, and would meet up twice a year until at least 1964.  Their teacher, Bessie Bigger, is watching the program at home.

Lieutenant Wilbur Wright from Stewart Air Force Base, Newburgh, New York: “My brother Orville Wright is backstage”
Lieutenant Orville Wright is with the Navy, stationed at Ream Field in San Diego, California.  The brothers are not related to the famous aviators.  Garry notes that this is Armed Forces Week, which for several years meant an entire special program of I’ve Got a Secret devoted to the armed services.

Lucho Navarro from Chile is surrounded by classic radio sound effects props, with which he will do: “Nothing…I’ll make the same sounds using only my voice”
Longtime CBS sound effect specialist Orville White comes out to work the equipment, and Navarro recreates it vocally.  Navarro then does pieces from his nightclub act, including waves on a beach, a train, and a table tennis match set to music.
