Bill, Betsy, Henry, Bess

Film from Henry’s day on the Roy Rogers ranch is shown, mostly involving Henry’s interactions with Rogers’ famous horse Trigger.  Henry explains that the original Trigger is 31 years old and still somewhat active, but a younger Trigger is used in shoots today.

Special guest Janet Leigh has brought unusual gifts for the panel.  As for Garry’s present: “I’m wearing it under my coat…An $18,000 white mink dress”
The unique dress, which also comes with a $20,000 matching coat, is obviously not for Garry to keep, but the other panelists can keep theirs.  Bill’s is an automatic drink stirrer.  Betsy’s is an exercise pole.  Henry’s (oddly) is a dress form that molds to the contours of your body.  Bess is left out, but gets hers next week.  Leigh is about to start work on The Manchurian Candidate (1962).

Guest Michel de la Vega is a French magician who immediately goes into his act, without playing a game.  He performs a “substitution trunk” routine in which he ties Garry up in a bag, locks him in a trunk, then, within an instant, changes places with Garry.  He makes such a good impression that he would be invited back twice more in early 1962 and again in 1963, but aside from these and other occasional TV appearances, he does not appear to have made much of a splash in the industry.
