Gordon Hathaway from Exeter, New Hampshire: “I’m going to skip rope…with Garry Moore sitting on my shoulders”
Hathaway is a veteran physical education teacher for the Exeter school system.  In addition to his own rope jumping prowess, he also performs locally with Exeter schoolchildren who are billed as the Rhythm Rope Skippers, though they do not appear with him here.

Tom Lally, Jack Sanford, Ken Bell, Monty Bonsignore and Vincent Paradise, all volunteer firefighters from West Redding, Connecticut: “We stood around and watched our firehouse burn down…Our fire engines were inside”
The nearby community of New Canaan loaned the use of one of their fire trucks, and other community firefighters took up the slack as the West Redding department got back on its feet.  In an unusual move for the show, Garry doubles the prize money and donates $160 to the rebuilding efforts.

Special guest Sam Levenson brings dozens of relatives on stage to meet Garry and the panel.  Levenson’s gentle, homespun humor frequently involved stories about his large extended family.  Here, he explains that the clan is part of a “family circle,” a fully incorporated club made up of relatives.   He also reads a letter from Albert Einstein, who accepted honorary membership into the circle.
