Bill, Carol Burnett, Henry, Bess

Another special episode with young performers related to famous personalities.

Miss X: “My father is Bud Collyer”
Pat Collyer performs a Chopin waltz, but says wants to be a teacher, not a performer.

Mr. Y from Walla Walla, Washington: “My father is U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas”
Bill Douglas performs a pantomime sketch.  He teaches dramatics at Whitman College and wishes to become a full-time actor.  As William Douglas Jr, he would end up with a few credits, including the film PT 109 (1963) and four different episodes of The Outer Limits (1963-1964).

Ruth Lademan from Los Angeles: “My father is Walter Brennan”
Mrs. Lademan , dressed in an elegant ball gown and backed by Norman Paris and an unnamed violinist, incongruously performs the Appalachian folk song “Good Old Mountain Dew.”  She married a Navy Captain who served in World War II and the Korean War, and would later serve in Vietnam.

Margie, Mike and Andrea: “Our father is Mitch Miller”
The teenagers sing “When the Saints Go Marching In” with Mike on banjo, backed by Norman Paris and his band.  Appropriately, given their famous father, Garry ends the show with a sing-along.
