Bill, Betsy, Henry, Bess
Simon Argevitch from Oakland, California: “I’m going to smoke 6
cigars and whistle at the same time.”
Mr. Argevitch had performed his quite
specific novelty act previously on You
Bet Your Life, and in 1972 would make an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. He appeared in both Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and the Guinness Book of World Records.
By 1982, he would be up to 17 cigars at once, his personal best. He returned to the show in 1964 (

).
Ten members of the Levittown, New York Police Boys Club Junior
Softball Team: “One of us is a girl”
Chris Vollaro
made the team without anybody realizing she was a girl, and was playing in her
first game when her baseball cap flew off after she hit a single. Club officials allowed her to stay on the
team. To further prove what a different
era this is, Garry’s “reveal” is to lift their baseball caps until he finds the
one with the long hair.
Special Guest Tony Randall
has the
panel improvise a dramatic scene. Randall is appearing in summer stock in the
play Goodbye, Again, and has released
a self-titled album
