Garry the Weatherman: “Welcome to our show on one of our first Spring wet, rainy nights here in New York.”

A masked Mr. X: “I gave Betsy Palmer her first job…she was my secretary”
Ernest Hott was the car foreman on the RIP track for the B&O Railroad in Chicago.  RIP tracks are where cars are taken off the main lines for minor repairs.  Betsy clearly adores the man, dissolving into tears at seeing him, but in later interviews, she would admit that she did not enjoy the job because she tended to be cut off from other people.

Gilbert W. Chapman of New York City brings out a suitcase which contains: “A book…It’s worth more than half a million dollars…It’s the Guttenberg Bible (printed more than 500 years ago)”
Mr. Chapman is the president of the New York Public Library, and his treasure is one of 49 surviving copies known to exist.  Chapman appears on the show to promote National Library Week.  Johannes Guttenberg’s invention of mechanical movable type brought the printing press to Europe and soon the world.  It is considered one of the major milestones of human history.
