The mystery of Garry’s overcoat from last week is explained.  Garry took a raw egg to his suit during a rehearsal of Don McNeill’s stunt with the Ensolite pad, and didn’t have a spare on hand.

Young brothers Bob, Bill, Tom, Jim, Joe, John, Pat, Gerry and Michael McNamara: “We finally had a baby sister last week”
Wacky childbirth. Mr. and Mrs. McNamara appear on stage, but without baby Rosemary. As has become customary, the show showers the family with gifts.

Sgt. Ira Jones of the United States Army: “I was Elvis Presley’s platoon sergeant”
Elvis was the sergeant’s driver for nine months while the two were stationed together in Germany.  Jones, a decorated World War Two veteran, would later write Soldier Boy Elvis (Propwash Pub 1993) about their time together.  He became a popular speaker on the convention and fan club circuit and appeared in several TV specials and documentaries about Elvis.

Special Guest Jack Lemmon recognizes various commemorative weeks and months (i.e. “National Bicycle Week”) by doing some physical action, with the assistance of several lovely models.  They include Perfume Month (June), Let’s All Play Ball Week (April 4-10), Ripe Olives Week (July 5-11) and National Laugh Week (April 1-7).  On the subject of laughter, Lemmon’s soon-to-be classic film Some Like It Hot (1959) has just hit theaters.
