Bill, Jayne, Henry, Betsy Palmer
This is only the second appearance for Betsy Palmer, still a couple of years away from becoming a regular panelist.
Joseph Pugliese, a mail carrier from
Dominguez, CA: “I’ve kissed every woman on my mail route (528 Of Them)”
Mr. Pugliese, “Pug” to his friends,
was so well-liked by the families on his Long Beach route that they all threw
him a surprise birthday party and chipped in to purchase a mail cart, which
postmen at the time had to pay for themselves. All the women at the party lined
up to give him a kiss. The final kiss
came from his wife.
[Tony Malicia] of Cleveland, OH: “I’m
translating the questions into Italian for my mother in Cleveland”
Mr. Malicia’s mother is a huge fan of
the show, he tells them, but can’t speak English and usually has him translate
for her as they watch together.
Special Guest Ronald Reagan enters and
reenters multiple times
The gimmick here is that in film, even
the slightest mistake requires a retake, so Reagan starts over from the
beginning every time a panelist messes up or is at a loss for words. The future president’s film career mostly
behind him at this point, Reagan was into his second of what would become eight
seasons as host of General Electric Theatre.
