Mr and Mrs George Cole from Elmyra, New York: "We were married 50 years ago today"
Charming matrimony. The Coles even sang a duet, with Mrs Cole at the piano. The lyrics included, "Perhaps we soon will part dear, / And it fills my heart with tears. / But there's something I'll remember: / We've been chums for 50 years." The show honored a different couple on their Golden Anniversary last year around this time (

Mayor Dominick DeLucco from Hartford, CT: “I loaned
somebody 70 tons of garbage”
More specifically, Mayor DeLucco gave the refuse to the nearby city of New Britain. New Britain needed to test its new incinerator system and was not equipped to collect large amounts of trash on its own. DeLucco was a Hartford businessman who owned a downtown restaurant there for forty years. He served as mayor from 1953 until 1955 and again in 1961.
Special guest Louis Jourdan takes part in a "trick or treat" secret.
We don't know the details of Jourdan's secret, but this would be the first Halloween-themed game the show would do. Over time, especially in the early years under Allan Sherman, shows frequently centered around various holidays.
