Capt James Belyea from Waterville, Maine: "I was rescued from behind enemy lines in Korea"
Captain Belyea flew helicopters in the conflict, normally shuttling dignitaries to and from events. On June 10, near the end of the conflict, his chopper crashed in the Yellow Sea, some 130 miles into enemy waters, and he and his crew were dragged underwater by the wreckage. Within minutes, an Air Force rescue plane found the survivors clinging to life rafts off the North Korean coast. All four crew members were rescued. After serving nine months in Korea, Captain Belyea has been reassigned stateside. (Belyea may have appeared on next week's show. The newspaper article that mentions his appearance is unclear.)
