There's a little guesswork on our part here, since this episode is presumed lost. Both Bill and Jayne said several times throughout the years that they began as panelists on the show's third program. However, no vintage newspaper listings mention either of them for this episode. In the years of live television and last-minute substitutions it would be easy for newspapers of the day to be wrong, and many early listings are provably wrong based on existing episodes. Many listings identify journalist Walter Kiernan as a panelist for this episode, and we imagine it's entirely possible he filled in for Melville Cooper here. We may never know.
Decades later (on a 70s episode of the celebrity game show Tattletales, of all things), Jayne said that she met future husband Steve Allen following her first Secret appearance, presumably this one. Jayne's sister Audrey had a date with comedy writer Bob Carroll. Steve tagged along with Bob, Jayne tagged along with Audrey and the rest, as they say, is history.
