Addison Pemberton from La Mesa, California has built: “A one-wheeled motorcycle”

Pemberton operates his gizmo, which he calls a ‘monocycle,’ from inside one large wheel, while smaller wheels help control steering and balance. Pemberton, only 18 years old here, would spend his life tinkering.  In addition to running a company that manufactures sophisticated instrumentation for the aviation industry, he also restores and flies vintage airplanes.

Bob Davis from Great Bend, Kansas has brought along: “A million dollars cash...all chopped up”

The pile of unrecognizable debris is on display center stage.  The government routinely destroys worn or mangled paper currency.  The average lifespan of low-denomination bills is only about three and a half years.  Davis purchases the pulped remains from the Dallas branch of the Federal Reserve for about $250 per ton.  He runs a company that provides drilling muds and chemicals to oil companies.  A key component of drilling mud is ground up paper, and Davis thought the higher quality fibers of paper currency would work better for his purposes than ordinary paper.  Put another way, Davis literally throws money down a well.
