Betsy will appear in a production of Peter Pan in Washington, DC.
William Pollock from Pottstown, Pennsylvania has a vehicle
backstage: “It’s the oldest automobile still operating in the United
States…Nothing on it has been replaced since it was built in 1891”
Pollock knows
little about the origins of the car except that it was built in France. His collection of vintage cars made up the
Pollock Auto Showcase in Pottstown. The
collection would be sold off by the early nineties, and today the location is
home to Pollock Auto Restoration, which restores vintage automobiles.
Four-year-old Carolyn Binkley from Nashville, Tennessee: “I just
signed a recording contract as a singer”
Young Carolyn
recorded a half dozen or so singles on the Columbia label. Because of an odd law in New York saying
children under seven can’t perform live on television, they play her record “I
Want a Baby Brother for Christmas” (1966) instead.
Special guest Arlene Francis brings four guests, each of whom have
a secret related to one of the panelists:
Richard Spong: “I debated against Henry in high school…Henry won”
[Mary McGowan]: “I was Bess’ chaperone during the Miss American
Pageant”
Donald Crowe: “I was Bill’s Biology teacher in high school…He
flunked!”
They run out of time before getting to
Betsy’s secret, but she recognized her guest as the Dean of Boys at her alma
mater, who costarred with her in a high school play.
