Harold Bearak from Forest Hills, New York is on stage with 25
women: “I was the Best Man at all their weddings”
Bierak is the
president of the Long Island Senior League, a singles club. He has served as best man at a total of 49
weddings, with the 50th coming up in June.
Terry Helker (13) and Jeanne Ruff (12) from Racine, Wisconsin, who
each broke an arm in tumbling class: “We were going to play piano solos in a
recital…We’re going to play together using our good arms”
Together, the
seventh-grade schoolmates learned Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 16 (1805), a
standard educational piece which Steve refers to as “The Harpsichord Player.” Their original recital was May 3, and they
repeat their performance here.
Special guest Hugh O’Brian tests the
panel’s memory of events that happened earlier in this episode. Then in a final segment, Henry describes a
new contestant, Ronald Aaron, so that later, Betsy and Bess will be able to
pick him out of a group. He turns out to
be the 50th groom for whom Mr. Bearak will be a best man later. O’Brian is about to star as Sky Masterson in
a three-week run of Guys and Dolls at
City Center in June.
