It's another evening of performances by relatives of celebrities.
Mr. X sings and plays guitar for “La Bamba”: “My father is Art
Carney”
Brian Carney
played a college circuit of coffee shops for ten years, but his music career
never took off. He would find more
success as an actor, primarily in commercials.
He most recognized role would probably be as the corporate CEO in a series
of GEIKO commercials from 2008 to 2011 opposite their popular spokeslizard.
A rock quartet known as The Live Wires performs their instrumental
arrangement of the folk song “900 Miles.”
One of their members is Mr. X: “My father is Durward Kirby”
Dennis Kirby and his bandmates Tony
Caruso, Richard Iannuzzi and Joey Kennedy would record one single for Boom in
July (“The Mask” b/w “Keep it to Yourself”), but broke up soon after. Kennedy would continue to perform
professionally throughout his life. His
Joey Kennedy Band has played at various South Florida locations for decades.
Mr X: “My father is Frank Fontaine”
Bobby Fontaine fancies himself a comic
impressionist and answers the panel’s questions as various characters in his
act. His broad portrayal of such stars
as Ed Sullivan, Peter Lorre and Red Skelton gets laughs, but makes his father’s
“Crazy Guggenheim” character look like a model of restraint. Bobby would find work in nightclubs for a few
years before retiring his act.
Mr X: “My father is Steve Allen”
David Allen performs on the piano with
his father, but says he has no interest in a show business career.
