Seaman Apprentice Patrick Callahan from Trenton, New Jersey was in a parade in honor of Naval Reserve Day: “I was the entire parade”
The Navy deliberately created “The Smallest Parade in the World” as a publicity stunt.  However, the March 29 event became completely overshadowed by the tickertape parade given in New York City for astronauts Gus Grissom and John Young following their successful flight in Gemini 3, the first manned two-person mission.  Hundreds of thousands of people, including all the local news media, turned out for that parade, which also featured vice-president Hubert Humphrey.  The show recreates Callahan’s parade, complete with the color guard, grand marshal car and police escort that accompanied him.

11-year-old [Michael Casal] from New York City: “I was born the night Betsy Palmer got married…Her husband had to leave the wedding party to deliver me”
As Steve mentions at the start of the show, Betsy’s anniversary was two days ago.  Michael was born after midnight that night.

Special guest Eydie Gorme gets the panel to associate songs with famous paintings she shows them.  Eydie first gained national attention on Steve Allen’s early Tonight show, where she met her future husband Steve Lawrence.  “Steve and Eydie” as they became inseparably known, had many hits both together and in solo careers.  Her biggest solo hit was “Blame It on the Bossa Nova” (1963).
