Another evening of performances by relatives of celebrities.    

An 85-year-old piano teacher: “I’m Arthur Godfrey’s mother”                  
Kathryn Morton Godfrey performs her original composition “The United Nations March” (1964) backed by Norman Paris and members of the band.    

Mr. X, an actor and rock & roll recording artist: “My father is Mickey Rooney” 
Mickey Rooney, Jr was a child actor, and along with his brother Tim was an original Mouseketeer on The Mickey Mouse Club (1955-1959).  19 years old here, he performs “Listen to Me Baby,” which he also released as a single (Emerald 1964).    

Five family members, two with their heads hidden inside bags: “I’m a Smothers brother,” “I’m the other Smothers brother,” “I’m the Smothers Brothers’ mother,” “I’m the Smothers Brothers’ Mother’s Brother,” “I’m the Mother of the Smothers Brothers’ Mother and her Brother”                  
The Brothers perform some jokes, mostly tied to the tongue-twisting secret, and then have the panel attempt to say some short tongue twisters (“lemon liniment,” “quaint Quaker”) to Tom’s guitar accompaniment.  The duo were a popular act with several successful comedy albums to their credit, but at this point were only making guest appearances on television.  Their sitcom The Smothers Brothers Show (1965-1966), starring Tom as a guardian angel looking after his brother Dick, would run for a single season. The controversial and groundbreaking variety show for which they are best remembered, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, would air from 1967 until 1969. The Smothers Brothers will be performing at the Basin Street East club in New York beginning June 8.
