Hoppy: “I have tobacco in my pouch”
Hoppy is a kangaroo, performing with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus at Madison Square Garden.  J.Y. “Doc” Henderson comes out after the game to help handle Hoppy, as well as her joey Hippy.  Henderson has been the circus veterinarian for the last 21 years, and is already something of a legend in those circles.  He would go on to have a forty year career with the circus.

[Bill Gaylord] from New York City puts a small portable screen between himself and Garry: “I’ll shoot a 6000 degree flame at you from this side”
Gaylord works for the National Carbon Company, a division of Union Carbide, and is demonstrating their heat resistant “graphite cloth.”  Gaylord says the current use is to protect components in rockets and missiles, but the fabric would soon turn up in space suits worn by astronauts.

Special guests Marty Allen and Steve Rossi perform part of their stand-up act, consisting of brief interviews with famous figures in the news, all played by Allen.   Once the routine is established, they give the panelists setup lines and have them come up with their own punch lines.  The duo is relatively new to television, thought they first teamed up in 1957 and would work together successfully until 1968, reuniting several times after that.   They are promoting their debut album “Hello Dere!” (ABC Paramount 1962).  The title is Marty Allen’s catchphrase.
