“Is It True Or False”. Frank De Vol, a
composer, arranger and occasional actor, appears in his role as a Columbia
Pictures record executive to offer his opinion on releasing Henry’s song as a
single. He breaks the record over his
knee.

composition…It was performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra”
Young Mr.
Brown’s composition “An Israeli Symphony” was selected by Assistant Conductor
William Smith from several works submitted by young Philadelphia composers as
part of a contest. The orchestra
performed it on April 9 as part of a children’s concert, featured alongside
works by Rossini, Prokofiev, Gershwin, Tchaikovsky and Ravel. He performs a bit of it on an organ.
Donald R. Ridge, Oral Showalter, Dick Williamson and Roy Fetty
from Anderson, Indiana: “We made our wives Easter bonnets”
The four men
work for Delco Remy (today Remy International), a manufacturer of automotive
products, and made the headwear as part of the company’s annual Easter
contest. Sixteen hundred Delco Remy
workers made bonnets for the ninth annual competition. The men’s wives appear in their bonnets.
